1. Overview
Labb Innovations Inc ("Labb Innovations," "we," "our," or "us") provides the Motivate mobile application and its widgets (together, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Motivate is designed to work without asking for your name, email address, phone number, or a social sign-in. The App does not use advertising SDKs, Firebase Analytics, or cross-app tracking.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Anonymous account and identifiers
When the App connects to our online services, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous user account and assigns a random user identifier. We use this identifier to authenticate requests, associate synced favorites with your installation, and connect subscription status across our service providers. It is not created from your name, email address, or advertising identifier.
Firebase may also process technical information such as your IP address and user-agent information to provide authentication, security, and abuse prevention.
2.2 Quote and favorite data
The App downloads the quote catalog from our servers. If you favorite or unfavorite a quote, the quote's identifier and the requested action are sent to our servers and associated with your anonymous user identifier so favorites can be restored and kept in sync. We do not receive the text you share through the iOS share sheet, and the App does not send us a history of which quotes you view.
2.3 Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes App Store purchases and payment information. RevenueCat processes purchase and subscription information on our behalf, which may include your App Store receipt, product purchased, subscription status, transaction dates, device and operating system information, last app-use time, and user identifiers used by the App. We use this information to validate purchases, restore access, prevent fraud, provide paid features, and understand subscription performance. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
2.4 Information stored on your device
The App stores information locally, including:
- Downloaded quotes and your cached favorite status;
- The current and upcoming widget quotes;
- Your quote cadence and notification preference;
- Onboarding status, sync dates, and cached subscription status; and
- Pending sync operations while your device is offline.
Local quote notifications are scheduled by iOS on your device after you grant permission. Motivate does not use remote push notifications or upload your notification schedule to us.
2.5 Communications
If you contact us, we process the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and any troubleshooting details, to respond and provide support.
Information we do not collect
The App does not request your precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health information, name, phone number, or email address. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and secure the App and its quote service;
- Authenticate requests and sync favorite quotes;
- Process, validate, and restore subscriptions;
- Maintain and improve reliability and prevent abuse or fraud;
- Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests; and
- Comply with law and enforce our agreements.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in providing and securing the App, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where requested, such as for notification permission.
4. Service Providers and Disclosures
We disclose limited information to providers that help us operate Motivate:
- Google Firebase provides anonymous authentication. See Firebase's privacy and security information.
- RevenueCat provides subscription management, receipt validation, and entitlement status. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Apple distributes the App, processes App Store transactions, and provides device-level features such as local notifications and sharing. See Apple's privacy policy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers process requests and limited technical information as needed to deliver and secure our quote API.
We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the rights and safety of users or others, investigate fraud or security incidents, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. Any successor will be required to handle personal information consistently with this policy or provide notice of material changes.
5. Retention and Deletion
On-device information remains until it is overwritten through normal App use, removed by the operating system, or deleted when you remove the App or erase its data. You can turn off quote notifications in Motivate or iOS Settings; pending local notifications are then canceled by the App.
We retain anonymous account information, synced favorites, and subscription records only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, maintain transaction and security records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Service providers may retain information according to their documented retention practices and legal obligations.
To request deletion of server-side data associated with Motivate, email us at the address below with the subject "Motivate Data Request." We may ask for limited information needed to locate the anonymous account and verify the request. Deleting an anonymous account may permanently remove synced favorites and may not erase transaction records Apple or we must retain for legal, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.
6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing, and to appeal a decision on a privacy request. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising, so there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out to exercise for Motivate. You can manage notification permission in iOS Settings and manage subscriptions through your Apple Account.
Submit a request to support@labb-innovations.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
7. International Processing
We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Motivate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Motivate or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
